I'm looking for an experienced YouTube video editor for my new channel, which creates modern explainer videos on science, technology, engineering, history, aviation, and real-world mysteries.
The editing style should be similar to successful YouTube explainer channels—not documentary style. The goal is to maximize viewer retention through engaging visuals and fast-paced storytelling.
What You'll Edit
- 7–10 minute YouTube explainer videos.
- Voice-over, script, and visual references will be provided.
- You should transform the script into an engaging video using stock footage, images, maps, icons, screenshots, simple graphics, and text animations.
Required Skills
- Experience with Adobe Premiere Pro, Filmora, or DaVinci Resolve.
- Basic After Effects or motion graphics skills are a plus, but advanced animation is NOT required.
- Strong understanding of YouTube audience retention and storytelling.
- Ability to edit in a fast-paced style with smooth pacing.
- Good sense of timing, zooms, cuts, transitions, and visual storytelling.
- Experience using copyright-safe stock footage, images, icons, maps, and sound effects.
- Basic color correction, audio cleanup, and subtitle creation.
- Good English understanding.
Editing Style I Need
- Strong hook within the first 20 seconds.
- Visual changes every 2–5 seconds to maintain engagement.
- Smooth zooms, highlights, arrows, labels, and callouts.
- Pattern interrupts to avoid boring sections.
- Simple text animations and kinetic typography.
- Background music and sound effects used tastefully.
- Use of maps, diagrams, infographics, and on-screen graphics whenever relevant.
- Sync visuals closely with the narration.
- Clean, modern YouTube editing—not excessive cinematic effects.
I Will Provide
- Complete script.
- Voice-over.
- Brand logo and fonts.
- Reference videos and editing style examples.
Deliverables
- Final video in 1080p (or higher).
- Project/source files.
- Copyright-safe assets only.
Please Include in Your Proposal
1. 3–5 YouTube videos you've edited.
2. Software you use.
3. Your turnaround time for a 7–10 minute video.
4. Your fixed price per video.
5. Confirmation that you understand YouTube retention editing.
This is a long-term opportunity. As the channel grows, the workload and budget will increase. I'm looking for someone reliable who can grow with the channel.
