I have a queue of label jobs that must move straight from desktop to flexographic plate without a hiccup. The single most important piece of the workflow is accurate stepping and plate-distortion compensation for every label size we run, so I’m looking for someone who already does this day in, day out.
Here’s how a typical job flows from me to you:
• Receive native design files (usually Adobe Illustrator or PDF) and check them for print issues
• Separate spot and process colours, following Pantone or customer specs
• Calculate the correct distortion for the press cylinder and substrate, then build the step-and-repeat layout
• Output print-ready, high-resolution TIFF files along with a proof PDF and a brief distortion report
Jobs cover rectangular, circular and custom-shaped labels in multiple sizes, so you’ll need to be comfortable adjusting for different repeats, gear pitches and material stretch. Finished files must be ready for plate imaging; I don’t have time for back-and-forth revisions.
Turnaround is ASAP—ideally first files within 24 hours of assignment.
If you’ve already produced flexo plates with perfect registration, smooth colour builds and zero distortion surprises, I’d love to see a couple of sample screenshots or files that prove it. Please do not apply if you haven’t personally handled stepping and distortion for flexographic printing.
